Mordecai Neighborhood - Downtown Raleigh Historic Homes for Sale

Mordecai Neighborhood - Downtown Raleigh Historic Homes for Sale

The Mordecai House, birthplace of Andrew Johnson, the 17th President of the United States, is the focal point of this interesting and unique downtown Raleigh neighborhood.  March through December you can catch a Trolley tour, departing from Mordecai House, and tour the neighborhood and points of interest downtown.  The Mordecai Historic Park also offers a glimpse into the past through various events and tours.

The neighborhood is very walkable with easy access to downtown Raleigh's growing and vibrant nightlife.  Strolling the streets in the evenings you will see residents tending to their manicured lawns or sipping some sweet tea on the front porch swing.  True Southern style.

Homes vary in style from charming Colonials, to grand Georgians, to colorful Victorians.  Most of the homes have been lovingly maintained over the years and many have been given a new life in recent years as downtown living has become more attractive for families and those who love the charm of a historic home.

If you are interested in learning more about living in downtown Raleigh and purchasing a historic home in Raleigh, give us a call.  We would love to show you some homes and talk to you about life in Mordecai and other downtown neighborhoods.
